What Susa Mileage stores, and where
Your trips, the places they started and ended, your vehicles, odometer readings, costs and receipt photos are stored on your device and in your own iCloud Drive, in a folder that belongs to your Apple Account. We cannot read it. It counts against your personal iCloud storage.
If you are not signed in to iCloud, Susa Mileage keeps everything on the device only.
Location
To log trips by themselves, Susa Mileage uses your location while you drive, including in the background if you allow “Always”. Precise GPS runs only during a drive. Between drives, the app uses iOS's low-power signals (significant location changes, visits and motion activity) to notice a new drive.
Locations are used to measure the distance and to name the start and end of each trip. They stay on your device and in your iCloud Drive.
To turn a location into a place name, the app asks Apple Maps. That request goes to Apple, under Apple's privacy policy, not to us.
Motion and camera
Motion & Fitness is used only to tell driving from walking. The camera is used only when you photograph a receipt or your odometer.
What Susa Mileage does not do
- No analytics or usage tracking of any kind
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers
- No third-party SDKs
- No crash-reporting service
- No account, email address or password
- No sale or sharing of data, because none is collected
Exports
When you export a report, CSV file or Susa Books file, you choose where it goes. Once you share it, the app or person you send it to has their own privacy practices.
Children
Susa Mileage collects no information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date. Since the app collects nothing, any change would be a clarification rather than a reduction in privacy.
